Dr. Leon Blanchette

In 2003, Leon accepted a position at Olivet Nazarene University where he serves as Associate Professor of Christian Education and specializes in Children’s Ministries. Leon spent much of his first year at Olivet developing a program designed specifically for those called to children’s ministry. In 2004, Olivet officially began offering this major in Children’s Ministry.
Prior to teaching at ONU, Leon served 18 years as a children’s pastor. His ministry included serving in Cupertino, CA; Riverdale, GA; Hendersonville, TN; and Marion, OH.
Leon has served as a member of the Children’s Council in Tennessee and Ohio, including serving as Children’s Director of the North Central Ohio District Church of the Nazarene and currently serves as a Board Member of the Nazarene Children’s Pastors’ Association. He is also a member of NAPCE (North American Professors of Christian Education). He regularly speaks at conferences, camps, revivals, and Vacation Bible Schools
He is a graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University with a BA in Christian Education (’92) and a MA in Biblical Studies (’95). He completed his doctoral work at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary where he received and Ed.D. in Educational Leadership. He was ordained an Elder in the Church of the Nazarene in 1993.
Leon has been married to his wife, Teri, for twenty-four years and they have two daughters, Sarah (20) and Emily (13).
Leon is available to conduct revivals, camps and workshops and is happy to work with your local church.
